A little of this and that…
Not much has been going on lately. Ive been getting ahead in my Xhtml web design class, hanging out with friends, and playing more poker lately. My Xhtml class is going fairly well. My grade has probably just slipped to a B after my last test. Usually, I focus on making sure I can code properly and don’t worry a lot on the theory and minor details. The test had a lot of questions covering stuff such as what are the parts of a box design model, etc. The questions that dealt with coding I did fine on. In fact, I think I noticed something about the professors code that he didn’t mean to put as a mistake.
My semester project is going well. For those that don’t know, I am working on getting Stud8orbetter.com active. I have a lot of the content that I had intended to put on the site already completed. Sadly, I am coming to realize just how rarely this game is spread live. Hopefully in the next few years more people will pick up the game due to H.O.R.S.E, but for now it seems that online will be the main place to work on my Stud 8 game.
I had my interview last week for a potential job during the WSOP as a reporter. I still have another step to go through, but after that I should know one way or another. If this job doesn’t come through, then chances are I will start looking in the IT sector again after camp is over with. Technically, I probably have enough reserves to last the rest of the year if I wanted to push it, but I’m not going to do that. As far as the business is concerned, I will likely just work the one client that I have left part time if I end up back in the workforce.
Poker is really beginning to tug at me again. Stars and Stripes starts in a couple of weeks and I REALLY want to go. At the same time I know that money is a little tight to be going on a trip like that. I think that if the job at the WSOP doesn’t go through that I will go out around the WSOP to LA and play at The Mini Series and maybe in Vegas at a couple of the lower buyin Binions events. I have enough points built up for a free flight anywhere, so I could fly out free, stay with a couple of friends and only have to come up with a rental car. I think I might just do that.
